Brian Henchy
Brian Henchy, a USA Hockey certified coach, was born with a stick in his hand. This is his second year with the BC Winter Club as one of their hockey coaches. Originally from Queens, NY, he began playing roller hockey at a very young age. After moving to Bethlehem, NY, a suburb of Albany, he began playing travel ice hockey for his local team, and played on his high school’s Varsity team. Throughout his hockey career, he has taken on leadership positions a number of times, and has been an assistant coach on several youth teams.
Currently, Brian is a student at Binghamton University majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Law. He intends to pursue a career in Law. On the rare occasion that he’s not studying or skating he likes to pass the time by running. His accomplishments include finishing first in Men’s Under 20 division of the Lake Placid Marathon.
Brian most enjoys teaching lessons with the BC Winter Club because shortly after moving to Bethlehem, he learned to ice skate in a similar program (at 12 years old). His mother, being an elementary school teacher, has instilled in him a joy in working with children, and of course seeing a new generation of skaters take the ice doesn’t hurt. Brian is currently accepting new students! |
