BC Winter Club's Learn to Skate program is a great way for skaters of all ages and abilities to learn proper skating skills & techniques. Whether you are looking to compete or just learn how to stand on your skates, we can help! We have a fabulous coaching staff that can instruct you on all levels. All of our coaches are members of US Figure Skating or the Ice Skating Institute and all of our private coaches are members of the Professional Skaters Association, so you will be trained by highly qualified instructors.
BC Winter Club's Learn To Skate sessions are on Sundays from 1-2pm at the Broome County Arena and consist of a half-hour lesson and a half-hour practice time. Rental skates are included with your registration fee on a first come, first served basis. We have a limited number of skates in each size, so be sure to register early and state your size and preference of figure skates or hockey skates.
Our Winter Learn to Skate Session begins with a fitting day on Sunday, January 8th. Come and try on your skates and meet some of our coaches. Take advantage of some practice ice for just $5 per skater. Learn to Skate classes begin on January 15th. The winter session is 7 weeks for just $85 (includes 1 hour of additional practice ice time). Sign up early to reserve your skates! Winter session dates are: Jan 15, 29; Feb 12, 19, 26 & Mar 18, 25. Please note that due to scheduling with the Arena, we do not offer any "make-up" lessons for days missed. Please note that the Arena can cancel ice time due to events at the facility and we will address any date cancellations by the Arena on an individual incident basis.
NEW THIS SEASON: Winter Advanced LTS session for $110. Includes the winter learn to skate session and 15 minutes of extra practice ice right after class. It also includes membership to BC Winter Club! Your club memebership includes full membership to US Figure Skating and all privledges they offer and a subscription to Skating Magazine!
For their safety and protection, all participants (including parents) must wear gloves and durable clothing with long sleeves and full-length pants. Skaters with shorts, short sleeves or no gloves will denied access to the ive.Skaters who are under age 10 or who cannot skate the length of the Arena's ice surface unassisted must also wear a helmet and snowpants. These precautions are for everyone's safety.

About The Arena:
As the region's largest sports/concert/expo facility, The Arena is conveniently located in downtown Binghamton. It is owned by Broome County; is managed, staffed and maintained by the Broome County Department of Parks and Recreation and is home ice for the Binghamton Senators hockey team. The Arena was built in 1973 as a result of a nationwide design competition. It hosts a wide variety of sports, concert, expos and family events each year.
